Winter Wonders

Winter Wonders at Cork Arts Theatre

Over three hundred and fifty students from Mallow  and its surrounds  took to the boards of Cork Arts Theatre last week where Centre Stage School presented its 'Winter Wonders' programme of acting and song.

Over a course of seven days Centre Stage students (aged 5 - 18 years) presented fifteen different shows to very proud parents and friends under the direction of their class teachers and school director Aideen Mc Auliffe . The week was a booming success and created magical moments of performance and very special memories for both the students and their families to treasure.

Students as young as five and six years of age performed confidently in 'Ralph the Reindeer' and 'The Snowman' juxtaposed by the school Senior Vocal Company  (aged 15-18 years) who sang so beautifully as a vocal ensemble and individually,  taking on extremely difficult musical theatre repertoire and doing so with high technical quality and style.

'The whole idea of the Winter Wonders programme was to give each individual child the opportunity to perform in a small and intimate professional setting where mics were not necessary. Due to the intimacy of Cork Arts Theatre each child was given individual lines or a solo song which would be impossible in a larger theatre'.

Winter Wonders sprinkled it Chistmas magic on Centre Stage and its wider community, reminding us of the beauty this time of year can bring.

Can't praise Centre Stage school enough, my daughter has attended since she was 5 years old and enjoys every class she attends. Staff are friendly and professional and bring out the best in every student.

The atmosphere in classes, the variety of the class content and the teaching and guidance from all the teachers had me wanting more.
