Centre Stage School Parents/Guardians Code of Conduct
As a parent/guardian of a Centre Stage School student, we ask that you read and adhere the following code of conduct:
To help your child have a positive experience we expect all parents/guardians to:
- Focus on what your child wants to get out of classes
- Help your child achieve their potential
- Be respectful of other children, parents, teachers and admin staff. Rudeness, insults or aggression towards others/staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances and will result in expulsion from the school.
- Communicate with the school when needed - in the event that you need to communicate information/questions/comments please contact the office via centrestageschool@gmail.com or via the school phone number 022 53477 or 086 1546913. Please do not contact teachers directly.
- Be a role model for your child and maintain the highest standards of conduct when interacting with students, other parents, teachers and admin staff
- Always speak positively and kindly about rehearsals and performances that the students undertake
- Always speak positively and kindly about other students and teachers, and if an issue or complaint arises that the office will be contacted rather than a discussion in a public forum
- Encourage your child to do their best and be a team player
- Support all efforts to remove abusive behaviour and bullying behaviour in all its forms
- Never demonstrate threatening or abusive behaviour or use foul language
To sum up, we ask parents/guardians of students in Centre Stage School to:
• Respect:
- -The rules and procedures of the school
- -Your child’s class mates, their parents, their teachers and the admin staff of Centre Stage School
Any breach of this code of conduct will be dealt with immediately by Centre Stage School. Persistent concerns or breaches may result in the parent/guardian being asked not to attend performances if their attendance is detrimental to the child’s welfare and the parent/guardian may be asked to have no contact with staff.
Centre Stage School Student Code of Conduct
Centre Stage School wishes to provide the best possible environment for all students. Students deserve to be given enjoyable, safe classes and performance opportunities, free of abuse of any kind. These participants have rights, which must be respected, and responsibilities that they must accept. Students should be encouraged to realise that they have responsibilities to treat other students, teachers and admin staff with fairness and respect. We expect parents to explain the following code of conduct to their child:
Students are entitled to:
- Be safe and to feel safe
- Be listened to and believed
- Have fun and enjoy classes and performances
- Have a voice in relation to their activities within class/performance
- Be treated with dignity, sensitivity and respect
- Participate on an equitable and fair manner, regardless of gender, appearance, age, ability, religion or belief, gender identity, disability, social and ethnic background or political persuasion etc.
- Make complaints and have them dealt with
- Be safe from risk of bullying behaviour
- Say No to things that make them feel unsafe
- Privacy and Confidentiality
Students should always:
- Treat other students, teachers and admin staff with respect
- Look out for themselves and the welfare of others
- Do their best
- Be organised and on time, tell someone if you are leaving a class venue or performance venue
- Respect other students, even when things go wrong
- Abide by the rules set down by teachers when travelling to away events representing the school
- Behave in a manner that avoids bringing Centre Stage School into disrepute
- Talk to a teacher or member of admin staff within the school if they have any problems
Students should never:
- Use violence or engage in irresponsible, abusive, inappropriate or illegal behaviour
- Shout or argue with other students, teachers or admin staff
- Harm other students or teachers, or their property
- Use bullying tactics to isolate another student
- Take banned substances, drink alcohol, smoke or engage in inappropriate sexual behaviour
- Keep secrets, that may leave them or others at risk
- Tell lies about other students or teachers, or spread rumours
- Discriminate against other students on the basis of gender, appearance, age, ability, religion or belief, gender identity, disability, social and ethnic background or political persuasion
