Success at Destination Dance Competition in Dublin

Last weekend Centre Stage School's Dance Company students travelled to the Helix Theatre in Dublin to compete at Destination Dance competition 2023.  Competing in a range of different categories and dance styles (Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Commercial), the students of Centre Stage School brought 32 different dances to the competition with team members ranging from 9 to 18 years old. They placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in many of their categories, and 5 of their pieces qualified for the European finals in the UK in May. These young dancers did themselves extremely proud in a very competitive environment and took home lots of new silverware for their studio. But more importantly they showed what they can do on a national stage, instilling incredible confidence and belief in their talents.  The Pulse Dance Company (9-12yrs), Ignite Dance Company (13-15yrs) and Senior Dance Company (16yrs+) train 4-10 hours per week in the areas of Jazz, Ballet, Acrodance, Commercial, Flexibility and Strength.  They have been working towards this competition since September with their teachers Aoibhinn Quirke and David O'Connor.   Aideen McAuliffe and all at Centre Stage School are so proud of the outstanding achievements of this team and the dedicated weekly commitment they make to excel at dance.

Testimonials

Lucy has been attending Centre Stage since the age of 4.  I can’t thank the teachers and staff enough for all they instill in our kids; the talent, confidence & camaraderie inside those doors are so important, and it's a privilege for any child to be part of, and something which they’ll carry with them through life.

My daughter Aoibhe Lilly has attended Centre Stage for the past 5 years. The overall experience has been phenomenal. She has always enjoyed the high standard of classes on offer. Centre Stage offers a caring, nurturing environment, where love of arts is encouraged, in a place where children can dance, act, sing, laugh and have fun, making lifelong friends and memories. In Aoibhes own words 'It's my happy place'!

My daughter has been attending Centre Stage School for 4 years. She started with Theatre Tots and moved on ward from there. The musical theatre classes have been instrumental in the development of her self-confidence, as well as her great love for music and dance. The teachers and staff include and encourage all children of all abilities, and each child has a chance to shine. I couldn’t recommend Centre Stage School highly enough. Thank you to everyone there for the amazing work you do!
