After 2 years of online classes, outdoor classes and covid restrictions, the students and teachers of Centre Stage School returned to the Cork Opera House stage on Sunday 15th May for a triumphant end-of-year performance, 'Footwork 2022'. There was wild excitement from all involved, and there was a very emotional response from the audience. Over 700 students from the Mallow, Charleville and Kanturk area once again graced the boards of Cork Opera House with hundreds of proud parents cheering and clapping them on in abundance. Dances were performed by all Musical Theatre and Dance classes, as well as the Adult Choir, Dance for Fun (Young people with Down Syndrome) and the award winning Elite Dance Companies. Ninette Donougher was named as 'Student of the Year', and she also choreographed an Acro Dance piece for the performance. For the first time in the history of the school Advanced Ballet students Sophie Ryan and Ninette Donougher performed a stunning piece to Andrea Bochelli's 'The Prayer'. Centre Stage School teachers, students and parents are so proud of the show they put together, and wish to thank all those who supported them throughout the past two years.
