'Daddy and Me' Dance for Anna
As part of ‘Footwork’ at Cork Opera House on Sunday 20th May, showcasing the many talents of our students, we have put together a routine in aid of ‘Anna’s Dream to Dance’ involving several Centre Stage School students and their fathers. 7 Year old Mallow native, Anna Browne was diagnosed with a Cerebral Palsy, Spastic Displagia and Cortical Visual Impairment last year and was a student at Centre Stage School until her legs became too weak to dance, and she now faces daily pain and discomfort. However, there is hope for Anna; there is a surgical team based in America that could ease her suffering with a surgical operation, and her family have set up a GoFundMe page called ‘Anna’s Dream to Dance’ in aid of the 100,000 euro required for the procedure. In an effort to help them towards this goal, we have set up ‘Daddy and Me Dance for Anna’ GoFundMe page and 17 very brave and noble Daddies from Centre Stage School, along with Olympic Medal winner Rob Heffernan, have agreed to perform with their daughters in the Cork Opera House in aid of this very special cause. We aim to raise 2,000 euro in support of Anna with ‘Daddy and Me’ Fundraiser and are asking the community of Mallow and the surrounding areas to support the GoFundMe page and the individual dancers in their sponsorship. All donations will be forwarded directly to the Browne Family on May 21st. Rehearsals are underway and the ‘Daddy and Me’ performance is eagerly awaited as part of the line up at 'Footwork 2018'!
